Lost

The Ache of Being Lost

There are moments in life when the questions don’t stop. Maybe you’ve wondered if there’s any truth to faith at all. Maybe you’ve followed another path and still feel something is missing. Or maybe you once believed but walked away after disappointment or hardship.

That ache—the quiet recognition that something isn’t whole—is what Scripture calls being lost. And it’s not unique to you. It is the shared human condition.

The Lost Chapter

In Luke 15, sometimes called the Lost Chapter, Jesus tells three stories:

Each story carries the same message: God notices what is missing. He searches. He waits. And He rejoices when the lost is found.

You Are Seen

If you’ve dismissed Christianity in the past, wrestled with doubts, or followed another religion, you may wonder if God even cares where you are. But the truth of Luke 15 is this—God sees you. He knows your questions. He knows your story.

Just as the shepherd noticed one sheep was gone, God notices you. Just as the father ran to his son, God runs to meet you, no matter what path you’ve walked.

Being lost is not the end of your story. It’s where God’s love begins to reach for you.

Why We All Relate

Every person has been lost, though the paths look different.

No matter the path, the outcome is the same—we all find ourselves searching for something more. The beauty of Luke 15 is that no matter how we became lost, God’s response is the same: pursuit, compassion, and restoration.

The Invitation Back

You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to have perfect faith. The prodigal son came home with doubts, shame, and a broken plan. But before he could even speak, his father embraced him.

That is the heart of God. He is not waiting for perfection; He is waiting for you to come home.
