A Journey We All Share
Every person walks a spiritual journey, whether they realize it or not. Some feel far from God, searching but never satisfied. Others have encountered the grace of Christ and found new life in Him. Still others live with passion and purpose, carrying the Gospel into the world.
At CHPTRXV, we call this the Lost. Found. Sent. Journey—a simple way to understand where you are in your faith story and where God may be leading you next.
The Lost Stage: Longing for More in a Broken World
To be “lost” is not about insult or shame—it is about honesty. It is the recognition that something is missing, that no matter how hard we search, true peace feels out of reach.
Jesus spoke often of the lost. He described a shepherd leaving ninety-nine sheep to go after the one that wandered away (Luke 15:4–7). He told of a coin so precious that a woman swept her house until she found it (Luke 15:8–10). And He shared the story of a son who squandered his inheritance, only to find himself starving in a distant land (Luke 15:11–32).
The lost are not forgotten—they are pursued.
Being lost may feel like wandering without purpose, chasing pleasures or success that never satisfy, or drowning in doubts that never find answers. It can feel like being invisible in a crowded world, or like crying out to God and hearing only silence. But Scripture assures us that lostness is not permanent. It is the place where God’s pursuit begins.“For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19:10)
The Found Stage: Embraced by Grace, Transformed by Love
To be “found” is to discover that God has been searching for you all along. It is the moment when grace breaks through the fog of doubt and the love of Christ becomes personal.
In the parable of the prodigal son, the young man expected rejection. Instead, his father ran to him, wrapped him in an embrace, and threw a feast in his honor (Luke 15:20–24). That is what it feels like to be found by God.
The Found stage is filled with joy—joy in knowing sins are forgiven, that shame no longer defines you, and that your name is written in the book of life. It is a season of learning new rhythms: prayer, Scripture, fellowship, worship. It is where believers discover that Christianity is not just belief, but belonging.
Paul described this transformation beautifully: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
To be found is to realize that you are no longer alone. You are part of God’s family. You are seen, loved, and restored.
The Sent Stage: Living with Purpose, Fueled by the Spirit
The journey doesn’t end with being found—it begins there. Jesus did not call His followers to sit quietly in comfort. He called them to go.
“As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” (John 20:21)
The Sent stage is where faith becomes a mission. It is the Spirit-filled call to bring light into darkness, to share the Gospel with words and actions, and to live with purpose beyond yourself.
Being sent is not about perfection—it is about willingness. The disciples were ordinary people with doubts and weaknesses, yet God used them to turn the world upside down. Peter preached boldly at Pentecost. Paul carried the Gospel across empires. Priscilla and Aquila discipled young leaders. Every believer was sent to play their part.
To live sent today might mean crossing oceans, or it might mean crossing the street to serve a neighbor. It could look like teaching a child about Jesus, standing for truth in a workplace, or sharing your testimony with a friend who feels lost.
The Sent stage is where the fire of faith ignites into action. It is where the story of redemption multiplies, one life at a time.
Why This Framework Matters
The Lost. Found. Sent. journey is not about labeling people. It is about understanding the seasons of faith and realizing that God meets us in each one.
- If you feel lost, God is seeking you with relentless love.
- If you are found, God is growing you in truth and community.
- If you are sent, God is empowering you to disciple and serve.
This framework helps us see that faith is not static. It is a living, growing journey with Christ at the center.
Where Are You on the Journey?
Take a moment to reflect. Do you feel distant from God, unsure of His presence? You may be in the Lost stage. Have you recently experienced the joy of salvation or rediscovered your faith? That is the Found stage. Do you feel a fire to share Christ and live boldly for Him? That is the Sent stage.
Wherever you are, God is at work. The journey is not about rushing to the next stage but about faithfully walking with Him today.
